These plastic starter strips can be installed in our wedge/groove frames for those who want to "go foundationless." They provide a means for the bees to draw straight comb using only wax they create. Since bees build comb vertically by detecting gravity, it is very important to use a level when going foundationless, and use carpenter shims to make sure the hive is absolutely level side to side. A small normal tilt forward is fine.
