Welcome to Beekeeping 101! This class will cover basic beekeeping including apiary set up, woodenware, beekeeping equipment, colony dynamics, types of bees, honeybee life cycle, and colony dynamics. Attendees should bring note-taking materials.

We’re limiting this awesome class to only 15 seats, so sign up ASAP and jump into the wild, wonderful, and sticky world of beekeeping in Northern Virginia! Taught by The Bee Store owner, John Klapperich, you’re sure to learn a lot from this seasoned beekeeper and founder of the local honey, Sweet Sophia.
Location: The Bee Store LLC is located in the Tackett’s Mill Shopping center on the lakeside – so if you see a Safeway and a PetValu, come around back. There’s plenty of parking and a scenic lake nearby and plenty of local shops to explore. We’re located just off I95 near up the road from Occoquan, Virginia.
